Information about the Northeast IPM Competitive Grants Program
The FY 2004 Northeast Regional IPM Grants Program has funded 10 different proposals for extension, research, and research/extension. All involve multi-state cooperation of collaborators and the results of all of these projects should be useful in numerous states.
Each year the Northeast Region Integrated Pest Management Grants Program supports selected research and extension projects. Funds for this program originate at the USDA and are matched in part by the institutions sponsoring each project. The projects described here were selected by the regional review committee, and approved by USDA.
A competitive grant proposal process is used to select projects for funding. Proposals are reviewed and rated by a review committee comprised of experts in IPM from outside the region. The criteria for judging proposals this year included:
