Overview: Public Health IPMMany human diseases are caused or spread (vectored) by insects, vertebrates, or other organism. One well-known recent example is the West Nile virus, carried by some bird populations and spread to humans by mosquitoes. Another, originally discovered in the Northeast, is Lyme Disease. In this Center, the Public Health IPM Working Group holds primary responsibility for activities pertaining to public health IPM. The group attempts to engage experts and stakeholders from Land Grant IPM, public health, and community groups. For more information about public health IPM programs in your state, find the state IPM Coordinator and other pertinent offices in the "State IPM Links" navigation bar at the bottom of this page. To find resources pertaining to community IPM, select items in the submenu under "PUBLIC HEALTH" in the top navigation bar, or use the advanced search function. Please let us know how we can make this page more useful for you. If you have a resource to add, or a request, send an email. Thank you. |
