Targeted Watersheds Implementation Grant Program

The nation's governors and tribal leaders are invited to nominate their leading watersheds organizations for the Agency's fourth round of Targeted Watershed Grants. For 2006, EPA will award up to $16 million to as many as 20 of the nation's outstanding watershed coalitions. Nominations must be submitted by November 13, 2006.
The Agency TWG program encourages innovative solutions to achieving measurable water quality improvements, including, for example, projects focused on:
* habitat protection and restoration,
* fisheries restoration,
* market-based approaches, and
* low impact development and other techniques to control polluted runoff.
In the first three years of the program, EPA has awarded nearly $40 million in grants to 46 watershed organizations.
