EXECUTIVE SUMMARY: CSREES announces the availability of grant funds and requests applications for the Interregional Research Project #4 Minor Crop Pest Management Program (IR-4) for fiscal year (FY) 2007. For FY 2007, CSREES is soliciting applications to fund five projects including an IR-4 National Headquarters (HQ) and four geographically-based Regional IR-4 Centers corresponding to the four USDA administrative regions: North Central, Northeastern, Southern, and Western (a state/territory listing by region is provided at the end of Part I. B.). The primary goal of the IR-4 program is to provide safe, effective and economical pest management solutions for growers of minor/specialty crops. The amount available for support of this program in FY 2007 is approximately $10 million.

This notice identifies the objectives for IR-4 projects, the eligibility criteria for projects and applicants, and the application forms and associated instructions needed to apply for an IR-4 grant. CSREES additionally requests stakeholder input from any interested party for use in the development of the next RFA for this program.
