*We will make a commitment for two years of salary for the remaining untenured 0.25 FTE. Thereafter, the candidate will be encouraged to obtain grant support for the 0.25 FTE balance.
We are seeking an exceptional candidate to develop an innovative, forward-looking Extension program in urban and community horticulture as part of a landscape ecosystems team at Oregon State University. We are particularly interested in development of programs to enhance ecosystem services and sustainability of urban landscapes from home and community gardens through neighborhood, city, and regional scales. Leadership of the Oregon Master Gardener" program will amplify the impact of this position on Oregon horticulture.
POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES " Develop a strong, enthusiastic educational program for the public, horticulture professionals, and public policy-makers to improve the sustainability, and ecological and social functions of urban landscapes " Collaborate with colleagues in the public sector, industry representatives, and Master Gardener" volunteers to develop and implement an Extension educational program to integrate horticulture, ecology, restoration, and conservation to create gardens and landscapes that meet the needs and enhance the quality of life in Oregon " Extend research using modern or innovative educational technologies and approaches " Provide statewide leadership for the Master Gardener" program
