An exciting opportunity exists to lead USDA-ARS- Pest Management Research Unit at Sidney, MT. The ideal candidate will be a highly qualified individual with an established record of experience in one of the following disciplines: Entomology, Ecology, Plant Physiology, Plant Pathology or General Biology. Salary would be commensurate with experience. The successful applicant will conduct fundamental and applied research and provide leadership and oversight of a scientific staff. Current research focuses on developing ecologically based strategies, technologies, and products for the management of insect pests and weeds in crops and rangeland. This position provides leadership for interdisciplinary teams and collaborative partnerships to facilitate research and technology transfer. A degree in entomology, ecology, plant physiology, pathology, biology or related fields, with a basic knowledge of pest management or related field is needed to qualify. A Ph.D. is highly desirable. Applicants must have excellent communication and interpersonal skills with a demonstrated ability to guide research programs and provide leadership.
