* California is about to initiate cancellation proceedings against fifty-three pesticide registrants -- including large companies like Bayer -- that failed to submit required VOC data;

* A leading trade organization has petitioned EPA to require registrations and efficacy data for FIFRA 25(b) minimum risk pesticides making claims against public health pests;

*Biotech registrants are demanding a "uniform regulatory framework";

* Maine is posed to decide whether to ban aerial pesticide spraying; and a major new risk assessment tool is about to be released by LifeLine and EPA.
