Fire Blight and Streptomycin Resistance Webinar
Quan Zeng has produced a webinar with the Plant Management Network about fire blight and streptomycin resistance. The work was partially funded by the Northeastern IPM Center as an outreach component. In the webinar, Quan Zeng summarizes the survey he performed and concludes that as of 2016, the New England region is free of streptomycin resistance. He also provides an overview of how the resistance happened and discusses future management tools as alternatives to streptomycin. Currently, Quan Zeng is disseminating this information to growers through extension specialists in New England.
