The Northeastern IPM Center Announces Request for Applications for IPM Partnership Grants
Center to award up to $200K for winning projects
September 10, 2020, Ithaca, NY—The Northeastern Integrated Pest Management Center announces the availability of funding through its IPM Partnership Grants Program, supported by the National Institute of Food and Agriculture. Up to $200,000 in total will be available for 2021, with a maximum of $50,000 per award, to fund projects that foster the development and adoption of integrated pest management (IPM) methods. The program supports three project types: IPM Applied Research, IPM Working Groups, and IPM Communications. Applied Research projects that are led by or include an 1890 land-grant institution as a project partner are eligible for up to 3 additional points based on the scope and depth of the collaboration. Projects that include an 1890 institution may apply for $60,000.
The Center has run the IPM Partnership Grants Program since 2004, investing almost $6 million in some 270 projects in the Northeast region. The Center is particularly interested in projects that address regional priorities within our five Signature Programs (not in order of priority) 1) IPM and Organic Systems, 2) Rural and Urban IPM, 3) Next Generation Education, 4) Climate Change and Pests, and 5) Advanced Production Systems.
Public and private institutions or organizations, businesses, commodity groups, and individuals are eligible to apply. Project directors (PDs) must reside in the Northeast or provide sufficient justification for seeking funds from outside their own region. Co-PDs may be from outside the region.
Applications must be submitted online and are due by Thursday, November 12, 2020. An Informational Webinar about the RFA will be held on October 5, 2020, 11:00 a.m. – 12:00 noon.
