School IPM Best Practices

Massachusetts

  1. Since 2001 the Children’s and Families Protection ACT law has been in effect in Massachusetts. The law has several general components, which include but is not limited to.
    1. Pesticide use restrictions/limitations for indoors and outdoors
    2. A “right to know component” requiring notification and posting prior to the application of pesticides outdoors.
    3. Record keeping component requiring retention of pesticide application records.
    4. Creation, submission and maintenance of indoor & outdoor IPM-Plans.
  2. The “specific” components and requirements of the law are listed within our comprehensive school IPM-Plan website which is the same website utilized by schools to create and edit IPM-Plans http://massnrc.org/ipm/
