Northeast IPM Research Update Conference

You are invited to share details about your project in the 2024 Northeastern IPM Center’s Northeast IPM Research Update Conference.

Conference Date

  • December 10, 2024, 10:30 a.m. – 12:00 noon EST.

Conference Format

Each presentation will be allotted 5 minutes, allowing for a total of 12 presentations during the 90-minute conference. The host will present two prerecorded videos (5 minutes each) followed by a live audience-generated question-and-answer session (5 minutes). This blended presentation format was selected to minimize transition time between speakers while providing presenters with the opportunity to interact with a live audience. Audience members are encouraged to use the Chat function in Zoom to respond and add comments, and the Q&A feature to submit their questions to the speakers. To ensure lively and successful sessions, it is anticipated that each presenter will attend the entire 90-minute session in which their presentation appears.

Presentation Content

Presenters must submit a session title and a 5-minute prerecorded video presentation. To keep it brief and fun, each presenter will have a MAXIMUM OF 5 MINUTES to share one cool thing about their project. Please include contact information on your slides so that people can contact you with follow-up questions.

We are just looking for highlights. This is not the conference for talking at length about methods, procedures, statistical analysis, results, and discussion. We suggest a brief introduction to the project and what exciting things you’ve found out so far.

It’s an opportunity for us and you to hear about current research in IPM, learn what you and your peers are doing, and see places of overlap and potential collaborations. You can see recordings of previous conferences on our website.

Presentation Format

Please upload your video file here. Preferred video formats are .MP4 or .MOV at 720p resolution (but if your software produces another type of file, we can likely use it). You may use an alternative service such as Dropbox or Google Drive to share the video file with us if you prefer.

To produce your video, you may record your screen using your computer’s built-in tools, Zoom, or other free services such as Screencast-O-Matic.
