Published Grants Expert Jana Hexter Named Grants and Partnerships Coordinator

Jana Hexter

The Northeastern IPM Center has a new grants and partnerships coordinator. Jana Hexter joins the staff and fills a key position at the Center.

“The grants and partnerships coordinator position is integral to the operation of our Center,” said Steve Young, director.

To say Jana has a strong background in researching and winning grants is a bit of an understatement. In fact, she’s written a book on the topic and has successfully secured over $37 million working with organizations across the United States.

Hexter is a skilled grant development professional, teacher, and researcher with an excellent track record. Her book, Grant Writing Revealed, was reviewed as a “must have for your grants library” by the chief executive officer of the Grant Professionals Association.

Prior to coming to the Northeastern IPM Center, Jana supported clients such as Cornell University, Broward County Public Schools in Florida, and the Franziska Racker Centers in Ithaca, New York as a grant writing consultant and trainer. She is the owner of Grants Champion, her own grant writing and training business.

As the grants and partnerships coordinator, Hexter will manage all aspects of grants and proposals for the Center. She will coordinate the Center’s Partnership Grants program and handle requests for applications, review panels, and sub-award documents while monitoring progress and expenditures.

“Our Partnership Grants program is one way that our Center helps to address many of the IPM-related issues that are critical to our stakeholders in the Northeast,” said Young. “Jana brings to this position an extensive background in grant writing and reporting as well as an understanding of effective communication. Both of these will be necessary for helping our Center achieve its mission of promoting IPM.”
